Scottish Luckenbooth Rubber Stamp with Double Hearts and Doves

This design was inspired by the centuries-old tradition of the Scottish Luckenbooth charms and brooches. It features two interlocked hearts, an elegant crown and a pair of doves at the top. See a short history of the Scottish Luckenbooth below.

Stamped image size: 1-3/4" wide by 2-1/4" high.

Made of top-grade materials by Highlander Celtic Stamps: premium, deeply-etched red rubber with generous cushion material on an eastern maplewood mounting.

Uses include scrapbooking and papercrafting of all kinds...invitations, hand-made cards (Valentine's Day cards with a unique Scottish flair), special note paper, envelope decoration, gift tags and more.

THE SCOTTISH LUCKENBOOTH: Heart-shaped brooches, in vogue in the early 1700's, were traditionally exchanged between lovers on betrothal and subsequently pinned to the baby's shawl to protect the child from evil "spirits." The name comes from their sale in the "locked booths, or Luckenbooths around St. Giles Cathedral on The Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
